Work with your local to strengthen the union, welcome and recruit new members, keep current members engaged, build strong structures in every building, lift up member voices, and support programs that connect our union to the community and to important political and legislative work.
CHAIR:

Help your local speak up for public schools by getting involved in simple, effective political actions—like contacting lawmakers, sharing stories from your building, turning out for key votes, and supporting the local’s plan to advocate for educators and students.
CHAIR:

Help your local put its goals into action during bargaining by supporting the negotiating team, sharing information from your building, and backing the team’s strategy. In some cases, staff may join the team at the table, but member involvement is what gives negotiations real power.
CHAIR:

Help make sure every member knows their rights and gets the support they need—helping each other know how to address problems, stand with members when issues come up. Help create fair contract language, state law, and district policy.
CHAIR:

Work together to grow our union by talking with coworkers, identifying the issues that matter most, spotting and developing new leaders, planning actions that move us forward, and finding ways to celebrate successes.
CHAIR:

Help build simple, reliable ways for members and partners to stay informed and to share what’s happening in their buildings—so information flows both ways and everyone stays connected and involved.
